We kindly ask you to review this policy thoroughly before reserving a charter. When you make a booking with PlainNoteBook, you are consenting to and accepting these refund conditions.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Timeline
Exceeding 72 Hours Prior to Charter
Eligible for: Full reimbursement except for processing charges
Time for Processing: 5-7 business days
Service Charge: €50 for credit card operations
Prerequisites: Must be requested via written correspondence or telephone
Between 24 to 72 Hours Prior to Charter
Eligible for: Half the total charter expense
Time for Processing: 7-10 business days
Service Charge: €25 deducted from the reimbursement amount
Prerequisites: Justifiable reason necessary; administrative costs apply
Less Than 24 Hours Prior to Charter
Eligible for: No option for refund
Exception: Emergency scenarios taken into account
Alternative: A charter credit may be given based on managerial discretion
Prerequisites: Written proof required for emergencies
Refunds Related to Weather Conditions
Our Pledge Regarding Weather
Your safety is paramount. Should the charter not proceed due to unsafe weather conditions as determined by our certified captain, we offer several alternatives:
- Complete Reimbursement: Full refund if rebooking is not an option
- Rescheduling: Change your charter to another available slot with no additional fees
- Charter Credit: Receive a voucher valid for one year from the original booking
Weather Evaluation Approach
We consider the following factors for our weather evaluation:
- Examining wind conditions
- Evaluation of sea conditions and swell height
- Visibility and forecast of precipitation
- Advisories and safety warnings from maritime authorities
- Risk appraisal by our professional captain
Timing for Decisions: Decisions to cancel due to weather are made at the latest 4 hours before your scheduled departure.
Refunds for Medical Emergencies
Emergency Events
We recognize that unforeseen medical emergencies can happen. The following are conditions that could be eligible for special refund considerations:
- Sudden disease or injury necessitating hospital admission
- Passing of a close family member
- Mandatory military service or immediate reassignment
- Summons for jury duty or a legal obligation
- Major environmental events impacting travel
Requirement for Documentation
For consideration of emergency refunds, please provide:
- Verification from a medical institution or health certificate
- A death certificate, if applicable
- Verified military orders
- Legal summons or notification for jury service
- Advisories for travel or declarations of emergency
Procedure: We process requests for emergency refunds within 3-5 business days after we receive the appropriate documents.
Cancellations Due to Operational Concerns
Technical Issues
Should the vessel assigned to you encounter unfixable technical issues:
- Substitute Vessel: We endeavor to supply an equivalent replacement
- Full Reimbursement: If no comparable alternative can be provided
- Partial Reimbursement: If the replacement vessel comes at a different price point
- Compensation: Additional recompense may be awarded for the inconvenience
Absence of Crew
On the rare occasion that a certified crew is unavailable:
- A substitute crew will be arranged if feasible
- Complete reimbursement if the charter cannot proceed
- Options to reschedule without incurring extra charges
Method for Refund Processing
Mode of Payment
Reimbursements will be executed using the original payment medium:
- Credit Cards: Processed within 5-7 business days
- Electronic Fund Transfers: Processed within 7-10 business days
- Cash or Check: Processed within 3-5 business days
Fees for Processing
Credit Card Transactions
A €50 fee for rescindments made more than 72 hours before the charter
Processing for Bank Transfers
A €25 fee is applied to all bank transfer refunds
Charges for International Operations
Extra fees may be levied for cross-border transactions
Vouchers for Future Charters
Circumstances for Offering Credits
In specific scenarios, charter credits may be issued instead of refunds:
- For cancellations occurring close to the departure time
- If the charter is cancelled due to weather
- When a client requests a rescheduling
- Due to unforeseen operational issues
Terms for Credits
- Validity: 12 months from the issuance date
- Non-Transferable: Credits cannot be exchanged with others
- Value: Equivalent to the full charter cost, excluding fees
- Applicability: Usable on any upcoming charter
- Expiration: Credits must be used within the 12-month limit
Reimbursements for Partial Services
Interruptions During the Service
If your charter experiences disruptions or is curtailed due to our oversight:
- A refund proportional to the unutilized period
- Credit towards an equivalent future charter
- Complimentary services or upgrades where possible
Interruptions Caused by Guests
When a charter is brought to an early end due to guests' conduct or violation of safety norms:
- No reimbursement for the remaining time
- Settlement of the full cost is required
- Additional fees may be incurred
Resolving Disputes
Should you disagree with a decision pertaining to refunds, the following options are available:
- Ask for a reassessment by our management team
- Supply additional proof or documentation
- Seek a solution through consumer advocacy groups
- Engage in legal measures as allowed by law

Step 3: Validation and Action
Upon receiving your refund request, our team will acknowledge it within a day, assess it in the context of this policy, inform you of the decision within two days, and proceed with the approved refund as per the given timelines.
Significant Points to Note
- All demands for refunds need to be made in written form
- Refunds are released in €, irrespective of the transaction currency
- We highly advise purchasing travel insurance
- This policy is amendable with a 30-day notification period
- Reimbursements are subject to prevailing taxes and legal statutes
